This month, Dr. Saunders’s challenge is geared towards changing the way you think about yourself! Dr. Saunders challenges you to observe the thoughts that you are having, and to write them down. Question each thought, what was going on at the time, how it makes you feel, and how it may have affected your behavior in the given situation. Ask yourself if the thoughts you are having are good for your mental health. Are they true or are they rooted in fears that hold you back from doing what you really want to do? Are they based on beliefs that no longer serve you well? Replace the thoughts that are causing you harm and holding you back with positive self-talk and positive affirmations, instead. These can be general or specific to your situation, whatever suits your needs. In your journal, use one page to write the thoughts that you are having, and the opposite page to write down the positive affirmations and self-talk that you will be replacing the negative thoughts with. What will you learn about yourself by the end of the month?
